Until Next Time...

I wanted to give everyone an update:
Melissa and I were able to meet at the starbucks in grand haven last thursday - nobody else was able to make it, which was ok because it gave Melissa and myself a chance to get to know eachother a bit!
We both agreed it would take some time to get this group off the ground, so we thought until we had more people we would play things by ear and keep it pretty casual.
Just to summarize, this is what we discussed:
  • Next meeting sometime in February.  Next time we will probably meet at the Barnes and Noble in Muskegon - the location is bigger with more meeting space, and might be more convenient off the highway.
  • Brainstorm for some type of project at the next meeting - maybe a quilting bee of sorts and donate the finished quilt(s) to a charity.
Ok, I think that's all I have for right now.  I will keep everyone posted with news as I receive it!

  1. It was definitely fun getting together with Sara and getting to know one another. Especially hearing how we each got into quilting. Excited to meet again in the future.

  2. Wish I could have made it, February is a long way off but it's a busy time of year so that makes sense. I'd like to see what people are doing in the meantime if that's doable.

  3. Hello! Glad you guys seem to be making progress. I wanted to let you know that we have a group here in the Kalamazoo and Grand Rapids areas that is forming. We are going to meet once a month....for now in the corridor between Kalamazoo and Grand Rapids. Just wanted to let you know, since we are close by, in case we can share some resources, etc. Best to you!

  4. It's February -- are you planning a meeting? I'm hoping it's not on Monday or Tuesday evening if you are.

  6. I am new to the area. I follow a few blogs that are members of the modern quilt guild and would love more information.
